Ladainha Lyrics
The ladainha (lah-dah-een-ya) opens the Capoeira Angola
roda. It can tell of Capoeira's history, great masters and places, or
it can tell a story, or explain a master's philosophy about life and
Capoeira. Some are pre-written, while others are made up on the spot.
At the end, the singer praises great people and places and prepares the
group gathered to start playing, and is echoed by the people in the
roda.
